How do i start up a dog walking business?

My best friend and i are very responsible and would like to take up a dog walking business for a bit of extra pocket money. We are both 13 years old and we own two very reliable dogs. ~How should we advertise ~How much should we charge ~How long should we walk them for please answer as we would very much like to find out about this before we start. i was just wondering what peoples views were and how much they would be willing to pay if they were looking for a dog walker.
advertise in newsagents, post offices, hand out flyers, put up posters, tell people to spread the word etc etc etc I would charge 7 or 8 pounds for 1hour walk to begin with.(5 pounds for 10/15 minutes is ridiculous! keep the dogs on a lead unless you have a small enclosed area(park, maybe?) near you which you can let them off in. BUT YOU MUST HAVE OWNERS PERMISSION BEFORE YOU LET THEM LOOSE!!!!!! good luck!

Good News: 33% of Pet Owners Hate Kennels

Pet Sitting Business

A new survey just released and published in the January 2008 edition of Pet Products Monthly show that 1 in 3 pet owners have had a “bad experience” with ‘traditional’ pet boarding options.

So why is this good news?

The same study showed that 4 out of 5 pet owners prefer in home pet sitting as their service of choice when dealing with caring for their 4-legged kid while they travel. The main reason given for this preference was because their pets are able to maintain their normal daily routines in familiar surroundings.

This is a perfect market for a home based petrepreneur to capitalize on with very little out of pocket costs.

As a matter of fact, when my mother-in-law retired she wanted some extra ‘mad’ money and with almost no work at all had 4 families that she pet sat for that earned her an income of almost $2,000 a month on average – no additional costs, word-of-mouth advertising and giving great personal service (along with her passion for dogs) were all she needed to make an outrageous ‘lifestyle’ income.

I will be adding a series of blog posts on ‘how’ to get started in this type of pet service business as we progress into the new year, but if this is something you want help to get started right away sign-up for my public access coaching & mentoring program and working together we will have you turning your passion for pets into a livable income stream.

Online Marketing Of Dog Washing Business

I ran across an article this past week and thought you might find it interesting. Even the very offline service of Dog Washing is going online – check it out!

If you have a business and haven’t got a website on the Internet, you’re pretty much crazy. I don’t want to sound judgmental but you must be either really behind the times, or just plain scared to get yourself onto the Web. If it is the latter, the fear is an irrational one, having a website is only going to do great things for your life.

Have you seen how many computers there are in the world today? Look at how much they’ve now been integrated into everyday human culture and society. Everywhere you go there are Internet cafes and computer retailers, people with mini-computers on the train, or laptops at the local park (receiving wireless broadband Internet). If you can’t see, hear, taste, smell, and feel the opportunity in having a website for every one of your potential customers to visit, you must be catatonic, drunk, or insane. If you truly do fall into one of these three categories, I’m really sorry, but if one day you do find a balanced state of life again, please check out the Internet and see what it is doing for people all around the world.

OK, let’s give you an example of how this works. Say you own a small dog washing business. You’ve got a good client-base built simply from an advertisement in the Yellow Pages and from people seeing your shopfront on the street. You make a good living, so why would you want or need to get a website?
