Good News: 33% of Pet Owners Hate Kennels

Pet Sitting Business

A new survey just released and published in the January 2008 edition of Pet Products Monthly show that 1 in 3 pet owners have had a “bad experience” with ‘traditional’ pet boarding options.

So why is this good news?

The same study showed that 4 out of 5 pet owners prefer in home pet sitting as their service of choice when dealing with caring for their 4-legged kid while they travel. The main reason given for this preference was because their pets are able to maintain their normal daily routines in familiar surroundings.

This is a perfect market for a home based petrepreneur to capitalize on with very little out of pocket costs.

As a matter of fact, when my mother-in-law retired she wanted some extra ‘mad’ money and with almost no work at all had 4 families that she pet sat for that earned her an income of almost $2,000 a month on average – no additional costs, word-of-mouth advertising and giving great personal service (along with her passion for dogs) were all she needed to make an outrageous ‘lifestyle’ income.

I will be adding a series of blog posts on ‘how’ to get started in this type of pet service business as we progress into the new year, but if this is something you want help to get started right away sign-up for my public access coaching & mentoring program and working together we will have you turning your passion for pets into a livable income stream.
