How do I start a pet portrait business?

I want to do painting and photography, but i don't know where to start or how to market myself?
Cool! Make up business cards, develop a website with a portfolio of your work, advertise with flyers at local vets, pet stores, groomers, kennels, Curves, teacher's lounges etc. Good luck! That's awesome! I'd love to find out more about your services. I have a painting that I'd love to have made of one of my cat's that has passed.

Start by asking your friends to let you draw them (or their dogs, otherwise, I don't get why you put it in dog section).

first off go to your local craft store to buy some special art pencils (HB, H, F, B, 2B, 3B and 4B pencils). Also buy some water colors and paints and buy practice paper and nice paper for the real job (I know it sounds like a lot of cash but you have to have money to make it) Go to a pet store ask the owner for permission and put up a nice spot for the dog to stay and have an easel to draw on.
